Lennon is 5 weeks old, which is hard to believe. He is growing so quickly. We have our 6-week appointment at the birthing center on Monday. We're really looking forward to seeing Sarit, the midwife who helped deliver Lennon, for the first time since his birth. It'll be interesting to see how much Lennon has grown. Adam tried to weigh him on our cheap scale and it said he is 11 pounds, which cannot be right--he's not growing that fast!

To update you a little bit...I am back to working at Alternatives Pregnancy Center. Many of you know that I had left my position permanently when I had Lennon. The woman they hired to replace me wasn't working out for them, so they asked if I would work part-time for them from home! It's really an ideal situation for us--I am bringing in the income I need, and I have the flexibility of staying home with Lennon. In a couple weeks I will also be returning to teaching water aerobics as well, which will be nice to get back in the water and hopefully lose more of my baby weight!

I think this outfit says it all!!

Back on our own...

Lennon is starting to smile socially every once in awhile, which is probably the most exciting thing since he was born 4 weeks ago. Grandma Martz used to be the only one that could make him smile by playing with him, but I finally got him to give me a big smile this morning, though I didn't catch it on camera.

Grandma Martz getting smiles from Lennon!

We had to say a hard goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa Martz on Sunday night. There were definitely tears shed in the goodbye, knowing that Lennon won't get to see his grandparents (in person) until probably July. It's going to take some adjustment for me not having them at home with us during the day. We had a great time with them and they were so very helpful around the house (Adam and I are definitely going to go through withdrawal when we have to make dinner and clean the kitchen).

Lennon's Nursery!

Lennon's room is finally done! My mom worked hard to get everything sewn and dad and Adam hung all the shelves and curtains. We had the grand unveiling on Sunday. It looks so great and I absolutely love everything my mom did. It's so fun to walk up the stairs and see his room all done. Hopefully Lennon will love it as much as we do!

Happy Easter!

Lennon has reached his due date!
I can't imagine not having him these past 2 1/2 weeks. He's still doing great--almost at the 8 pound mark! Everyday he is awake more and more. His wide variety of expressions keep us constantly entertained and we're continually amazed at how strong he is.

Our little Easter Bunny!

Waiting to go to church. He did so good through the service, with all the people and noise.

First Bath

Last night Lennon had his first bath (well, first sponge bath). He did much better than expected, he only cried a few times when mommy wasn't washing and drying fast enough. And we didn't even get peed on! I hope he will like his baths as he gets older.

Lennon's Shower

Lennon's shower outfit
(plus, mommy's getting excited for the Rockies season to start this week!)

We had our shower on Saturday, and Lennon was the guest of honor! It was great having our friends meet him. He did so good with all the people and noises--he pretty much slept the entire time. The only time I had him was to feed him and then he was passed on from person to person right away. It was great not to have to worry about him--he's just so easy going!

'Auntie' Emily

We were supposed to have a big snow storm that would have put a damper in the festivities, but thankfully it didn't pan out (even though we really need the moisture). Beka and Emily hosted the shower at Jared and Beka's house, which was tons of fun with all the space (along with pool and Wii available to play!) Adam and I had a blast--we were having so much that we didn't leave until 10:30 that night! It's nice to get out like that, and the fact that Lennon is so easy makes it even nicer!

I think he's looking more and more like Adam

He still doesn't like to be naked

Lennon is 1 week old! We had our check-up yesterday and all is well. Lennon has exceeded his birth weight in just one week--he's now 7 pounds 2 oz. He's definitely a good eater! His cord has fallen off, making diaper changes, which Lennon is not so crazy about, a lot easier and faster. Adam and I feel so grateful that things are going smoothly and easy for us (sometimes it seems things are a little too easy...but we'll take it!) I am pretty much fully healed and my energy level and emotional state are much higher than I was anticipating!

Adam is handling being back at work as best as he can--he's definitely flying out of school as soon as he can everyday and he has holding priority each night. We've developed a nice routine in the late evening where I feed him, hand him off to Adam and then I go to sleep so Adam gets his special daddy time!
